How long does it take to build a home?

From the time we start construction to your move in is usually 4-1/2 months. Larger homes or homes with exceptional detail may take longer.

Do I need to obtain a construction loan?

No, we carry the construction financing for you. You have one closing at the end.

What is the deposit required on a home?

Along with your loan approval, we require a $5,000 deposit on all homes that are built from our model home plans. A custom home plan would require a 5% deposit.

How do I make material selections for my new home?

You choose materials and colors directly from our samples and also from the vendors with which we work.

Are changes permitted during construction?

Changes are permitted during construction. Some changes may result in a change in price and/or change in the move-in date. All changes must be signed for on a Change Order indicating the work to be done before the change can be scheduled.

What type of warranty do I get?

Scott Nelson Construction, Inc. issues a written warranty that warrants all material and workmanship free of defects for a period of one year from the move-in date. Some mechanical systems are warrantied for a longer period from the manufacturer. All drywall repairs will be done at the end of the warranty period.
